Patrice Chambrier spent the first 30 years of his life in Embrun, a small village in the Alps, close to the Italian border, but he was attracted to the light and charm of the South and took up residence in the Var in 1995 finally settling in Entrecasteaux where his studio has thrived since 1998.
Patrice has opened up a whole new world to us with his art, so that we can see through his insight in his works, a spectrum defined as never before.
He has achieved this by mixing and matching different techniques together, sending diverse messages for us to interpret on various levels, like glimpsing a silent film with images, sub-titles, scandal in a novel and yet comprehensive fashion.
In his new works “Icons of the 20th Century” he has tried to express humanity’s response to certain people of that era, who achieved iconic status, because of their beauty, genius, heroism and indeed tragedy that etched an indelible mark into our collective conscience.
